Here’s one way for agents to stay relevant to their clients.

I recently appeared on “Real Estate Excellence” where I spoke with Tracy Hayes about personal development. In the interview, I addressed the questions, “How important is it for agents to stay active in their business?” and, “Should you attend seminars, read books, or listen to podcasts?”

If you take your business seriously, you have to invest back into it, and attending real estate seminars, reading books, and listening to great podcasts are all great ways to do that. There are so many ‘shiny objects’ out there for Realtors to throw their money at, only to not get the results they were looking for. If you’re thinking about implementing something costly in your business, give me a call; I’ve probably already wasted time and money on it.

Over time, I’ve become a podcast junkie. Some real estate podcasts aren’t all that great, but I’d say that 80% of them have something important to teach you. One virtue of podcasts is that they’re real people talking, and they’re not trying to sell you something. Listeners often reach out to us with questions about what they heard on a podcast and how they can apply it to their own situations.

In the end, there’s a tremendous amount of knowledge out there, so as agents, be sure to seek it out and provide it to your clients. That will improve your business and their overall experience working with you. If you have any questions about today’s topic or anything else to do with real estate, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
