Here’s a little about my background so you can get to know me better.

Today I’m sharing a little about me and my background with you so that you can get to know me better.

My family relocated to Jacksonville when I was nine, so I grew up here. I joined the Navy while I was still in high school, and right after I graduated, I left Florida to be a sailor. When I got to my first base in the Navy, which was in Atlanta, they found out I was a certified lifeguard, and they didn’t have one for the pool, so I started by lifeguarding the base’s pool. At that time, my wife graduated from high school and came for a two-week stay in Atlanta. We met and we’ve now been married for over 50 years.

I came back to Florida in 1988 and retired from the Navy in 1991. After I left the Navy, it felt like it was time to grow up and discover what I wanted to do with my life. I went back and pursued an associate’s business degree at UNF for years, but every time I saw the counselor, it seemed like he added another 10 hours of requirements, so with 120+ credit hours I decided to leave. Then I managed the commercial side of an air conditioning company for about eight years but decided that wasn’t what I wanted to do.

“I got my real estate license in 2005 and finally found where I was supposed to be.”

Next, I got my appraiser license but realized I couldn’t make the money I wanted doing that. Then I went into the loan business, but when the bank I worked for went out of business, I got my real estate license in 2005 and finally found where I was supposed to be.

So I got a taste for the HVAC, appraisal, and lending sides of things before I became a real estate agent, and I still try to use that knowledge when I sit down with clients. I can help them figure out what’s best for them, whether it’s a loan program, checking if the house is valued correctly or etc.

So that’s my background in a nutshell. If you ever have any real estate questions, call or email me. I would love to help you.
